A floating slatted frame - the story
The idea for a sun lounger came to me just before a camping holiday and I thought there must be a multifunctional lounger that could be used on the beach, as a camp bed and even work on the water.
After a few hours, the first draft was ready with the shape of a surfboard, a wooden slatted frame as a support and an inflatable tube underneath. Floatable and adapted to uneven ground.
After a few days, the first prototype was built, everything worked, but the floatability could not be tested due to lack of water. I had an adjustable headboard in mind and that was the beginning of the whole process that finally led to this sun lounger.
It can no longer swim, nor can it simply be rolled up completely, but the headboard is adjustable. And it has become much more beautiful. It has always been a great concern of mine to combine beautiful, simple design with functionality.
It is difficult to say why this sun lounger should be better than others, much is a matter of taste and lies in the eye of the beholder. However, there are a few special features that make the difference.
It is transportable, the straps of the slatted frame are only hooked in, the frame is connected with 20 screws and 4 Clamex. It takes just under 10 minutes to assemble and disassemble if you are practised. The frame is stable, but economical in its use of materials, which saves weight and makes transport pleasant. The frame weighs about 15kg, the slatted frame 9kg.
It has an adjustable headboard, which is not simply folded up and creates a rigid backrest, but it is set up and the slatted frame hangs between the foot and the headboard like a hammock. It therefore adapts perfectly to any body.
Slatted frame and mattress, this combination not only sounds like a bed, it is, as a guest bed, as a camping bed, as a sun bed. No foam, even if it might be less susceptible to moisture, but a mattress core made of natural rubber is inside. Lasts forever and has the very best lying comfort. The cover is made of organic cotton, removable and washable.
Ground clearance. The sun lounger does not stand fully on the ground, however it does not stand on 4 feet only, there are 4 foot plates, so it does not sink in and it can still compensate for enough uneven ground.
The design is simple and modern, with the combination of colour and wood. Clear edges combined with curves. I like this couch, everything is as I imagine it, but I also designed it.
Enjoying the sun on this sun lounger is a special experience. The warm wood in the sun is balm for the soul.
The slatted frame and the organic mattress give you the comfort of a comfortable daybed. And best of all - you can sunbathe on your back, stomach and side without any problems.
The headrest can be adjusted with a flick of the wrist and you can relax and read a book. This sun lounger meets the highest standards of workmanship, design and comfort.

Our sun lounger is largely made of wood, which is sustainable and durable. However, wood exposed to sun and moisture does not last forever.
Wood can warp, it can work, even if we select the material very carefully and pay attention to the very best quality, colour changes and bending are part of the everyday life of wooden products. Protect your sun lounger as best you can from environmental influences, ideally with our rain cover. In winter, the sun lounger should be stored in dry winter quarters so that you can enjoy it for many years.
Every part of this sun lounger can be re-ordered from us, so that if something breaks, the whole sun lounger does not have to be replaced. Please note, however, that we can only supply the same material, but a colour difference is always visible in the wooden parts.
